“I had the pleasure of working with Carly on a very challenging new reality dating series for a major US broadcaster during the summer of 2013. It was a very fast turnaround project, and Carly came on board at the early planning stages and offered advice regarding our location, as well as then pre-vetting all of the contractors we brought on board to ensure they were legally compliant, and safe for the production team of over 175 people, to use.
Once in production, Carly compiled a generic risk assessment for the general day to day goings on, as well as then more specific daily risk assessments in connection with the huge tasks we were asking our contributors to take part in. Throughout the 6 weeks on location, Carly offered the whole team amazing location support, attending every shoot both on and off site, as well as offering up suggestions to make sure we could do and film as many of the challenges as we were able, without hindering production or interfering in any way.
She was always cheerful and upbeat, and extremely efficient, despite the ridiculously long hours and very fast turnaround of each set up, and was genuinely a pleasure to have on board. I look forward to working with her again in the near future.”

“Carly was extremely thorough and competent in producing all the relevant paperwork required including the Health and Safety Manual for both series. To ensure all members of production and crew knew the relevant risks from being on set and working within the disused and partially derelict building Carly gave briefings to the crew at the start of the production. Carly also produced a 1 page crib sheet which highlighted the main points of the manual to crew along with posters which were displayed in the relevant areas to warn people of dangers e.g. the marble stairs on the mezzanine were very slippery due to condensation. Carly was always on hand to offer advice and solutions to risks and had good ideas to make the set safer to film. These included putting a box over the point of view camera on the step which could hold the weight of a Player if they were to accidentally step on it when entering the main stage area of the vault. This solution ensured the equipment wouldn’t be damaged and the Player did not fall. It was little ideas like this which made Carly a popular member of the crew, she was always flexible in working alongside production to achieve our goals but in the safest way possible.”

“Cary Gilbert was employed by me at Smooth Operations (Productions) Ltd, in my capacity as TV Production Manager for the live coverage of Cambridge Folk Festival 2012 for Sky Arts. Amongst other things, the job involved building a new structure over water on a previously unused part of the festival site and in an environmentally sensitive area. We wanted specialist advice on this area in particular.
Carly was employed as our Health & Safety advisor for the build of the studio and our overall presence at the event. She wrote our Risk Assessment, organised pre-vet questionnaires with suppliers and contractors, provided telephone help and advice and attended site meetings.

She came to location to check the safety of the set build, after writing the set build RA and wrote a comprehensive, easy to read RA with relevant and appropriate control measures for the series.
